How To Improve High-Temperature Cycle Performance of Sodium-ion Batteries
Mar 1,2023

The charging/discharging efficiency and cycle performance of conventional sodium-ion batteries will deteriorate when the temperature increases, which limits the application range. Therefore, it is necessary to solve the problem of poor cycle performance at high temperatures. The following are several ways to improve high temperature cycle performance.

1. Add a certain amount of vinylene carbonate, succinonitrile, 1,3-propane sultone and sodium difluoro(oxalate) borate to the sodium battery electrolyte,These additives are adjusted synergistically to promote a stable solid-state electrolyte interface on both the positive and negative surfaces of the sodium-ion battery at 55°C, thereby promoting the improvement of the high-temperature cycle performance of the sodium-ion battery.

2. The positive electrode active material is NaNi1/3Fe1/3Mn1/3O2, in the electrolytic solution containing 3% fluoroethylene carbonate, the mass fraction is 1% PST,At the same time, adding vinyl sulfate (DTD) with a mass fraction of 0.5%-5% in the electrolyte can significantly improve the high-temperature storage performance, cycle performance and -10°C discharge performance of the sodium-ion battery.

3. Adding the additive SCT2582 developed by the company to the sodium electrolyte can improve the high-temperature cycle performance of the battery.

4. The optimization of material system and electrolyte can effectively solve the problem of battery high temperature cycle.

5. Preparation of NVP@C-NS-FL nanosheets wrapped by carbon.
