This anhydrous lithium oxide (Li2O) powder is a high-purity battery-grade material primarily used for synthesizing solid-state electrolytes, a key component of next-generation solid-state batteries.
Lithium oxide is an inorganic compound. The following is an introduction to the properties, uses, production methods, and safety information of lithium oxide:
Nature:
-Lithium oxide is a compound with an ionic crystal structure, and its crystal structure is diamond shaped.
-It has good thermal and electrical conductivity and is one of the conductive solids.
-Lithium oxide can absorb moisture and react with water to form lithium hydroxide.
Purpose:
-Lithium oxide is widely used in the battery industry, especially as a positive electrode material in lithium-ion batteries.
-It is also used as an additive in the glass, ceramic, and rubber industries.
-Lithium oxide can also be used as a raw material for preparing high-purity lithium and other lithium compounds.
Manufacturing method:
-A common method for preparing lithium oxide is through the reaction of lithium metal with oxygen. This reaction is carried out at high temperatures, typically requiring a temperature of about 500 ℃.
-Another method is to sinter lithium hydroxide at high temperature.
Security information:
-Lithium oxide dust and particles can cause irritation to the eyes, skin, and respiratory system.
-When operating and storing, protective equipment such as gloves, eye protection, and respirators should be used.
-Lithium oxide should not come into contact with substances such as water, acid, or oxidants to avoid dangerous reactions.
-Be careful when handling lithium oxide powder to avoid inhaling dust.
-If an accident occurs, appropriate emergency measures should be taken and professionals should be consulted in a timely manner.
Storage conditions
It must be stored in a dry and well-ventilated environment due to its "anhydrous" nature, which requires avoiding reactions with moisture in the air.
Lithium oxide, with the chemical formula Li2O, is an inorganic compound with various properties and applications.
This compound is composed of lithium (Li) and oxygen (O), with the chemical formula Li2O. Lithium oxide is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water and has a melting point of approximately 1570 ° C.
Manufacturing process
Extraction method: A mixed rare earth containing 50% Y203 and about 4% Ce02 obtained by decomposing brown yttrium niobium ore is used as the raw material, and a rare earth nitrate solution is used to remove cerium. The rich yttrium rare earth is extracted and grouped using the N263-LiNO3 system. After acid dissolution, yttrium is extracted and purified using the N263 heavy solvent-NH4 SCN system. The residue is rich yttrium rare earth. Thulium, ytterbium, and lutetium heavy rare earths enter the organic phase, and then extracted using N263 heavy solvent to group thulium and lutetium. Thulium and ytterbium are extracted using hydrochloric acid to enter the aqueous phase. After separation, lutetium is further extracted using hydrochloric acid to enter the aqueous phase, and then precipitated with oxalic acid, filtered, and burned to obtain lutetium oxide.
